Through cold calling, I was given the opportunity opportunity to shadow at Abdnour Weiker Law Firm (AW). I spent a day shadowing around the office, participating in meetings, and even going to the Franklin County Government Office and Common Pleas Court. Throughout the experience, I was able to interact with clerks and interns at the firm, along with attorneys Kevin Rouch and Mark Weiker. Mr. Rouch took me on field trips to the Franklin County Government Office and Court of Common Pleas. At the Franklin County Government Office, he took me and the other interns to CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), the appeals division to talk to prosecutors, and the municipality court. We then headed to the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas. There Mr. Rouch showed us around courthouses, and he took us to meet Magistrate Skeens. Magistrate Skeens explained his position to us, and he answered all of our questions. After our field trips, we headed back to the office to end the day. Overall, my shadowing at AW was a great experience, and I am quite thankful for it.
