OJCL COnvention

The Ohio Junior Classical League(OJCL) Convention is a gathering of latin students from various schools throughout Ohio. The convention is filled with competitions, speakers, and fun activities. This year, I, along with 4 of my other peers made up our school's certamen team. Certamen is a sort of a quizbowl type competition, except all the questions are centered around Latin. Our team got past prelims and semi-finals, and eventually got 3rd in the state. The other competition I participated in was English Oratory, where I had to write a persuasive speech regarding a topic from the classics. I chose to have my speech centered around the death of one of Rome's founders, Remus. I was able to get first in English Oratory.
