In July 2023, I attended the National Student Leadership Conference History and Government Program at Georgetown University. I met a lot of friends at the program, and I am thankful for the experience. For the academic part of the program, I was taken through lessons and simulations on the branches of government, and I was given the opportunity to tour museums and government facilities around Washington D.C. As a part of the camp, we toured the InternationaI Spy Museum, National Archives, National Museum of American History, Capitol Building, and Mount Vernon. Apart from the history/government part of the program, I participated in many leadership seminars. In these seminars, I was taught about concepts like conflict resolution, public speaking, collaboration, communication styles, and style flexing. I learned a lot from these sessions, and I have begun to use the concepts I learned. Along with all of this, the ability and privilege to live on Georgetown University's campus was a fun experience. Overall, I am thankful I did NSLC, I learned a lot of useful information, and I met a lot of fantastic friends and people.
